Our first-ever Caleb Nickerson Homestead Mitten Tree was a smashing success! We collected a total of 43 pairs of mittens and a phenomenal 39 hats– many of them in matching sets with the mittens. Of those, 22 pairs of mittens were knitted by visitors to the Caleb Homestead’s holiday party on Dec. 1, and 21 pairs of mittens– and all the hats– were knitted by our partners at A Great Yarn, the yarn shop in Chatham. We thank everyone who participated in this wonderful event. The hats and mittens are now on their way to the Chatham Children’s Fund.
