The Nickerson family’s connection to the Mansion at Ocean Edge dates back to the late 19th century when Samuel Mayo Nickerson built the estate, originally called “Fieldstone Hall,” as a summer retreat for his son Roland. With ties to Chatham and Brewster, the family hosted lavish events in the Victorian-style mansion overlooking Cape Cod Bay, making it a symbol of their prominence.
Now part of Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, the mansion no longer serves as a hotel but houses restaurants, event spaces, and a boutique named after Addie Nickerson, preserving the family’s legacy and the estate’s rich history.
